Šķeltos zirņus noskalo un iemērc iepriekšējā vakarā (vismaz uz 10-12 stundas).

Otrā dienā zirņus noskalo un liek katlā vārīt uz nelielas uguns.

Nomizo un sagriež ķirbi mazos gabaliņos.

Uz pannas sviestā apcep sīpolu un ķiploku. Beigās pievieno sagrieztu vistas girosu (vai krūtiņu).
